One thing 2020 has made us... THANKFUL!
There’s one thing this year has made us…THANKFUL!!
When COVID-19 hit WA State hard in March, we had to buckle down and take the task of physically protecting ourselves, and those we serve here at Engedi Refuge, to the next level. Masks, tests, distancing and occasional quarantining have become the new normal. Caring for people’s heart and soul has taken more effort too, as communication is more often on the phone and computer. But we’re doing it, and we’re still fighting for people’s safety and restoration every day.
We are particularly thankful for all our friends and partners who are fighting for us and along with us, to keep Engedi Refuge strong in spirit and resourced in finance and material needs. We’ve been amazed at how many people have been giving sacrificially and faithfully all year, and how many people have made a point to call or email and tell us they are thinking of us and praying for us. It’s such a beautiful thing to realize that people really do care.
Many times over the years, Engedi residents have told me how overwhelmed they feel, knowing that there are good people in this world who are giving money and food and clothing and donating their time and doing all they can to make sure these victims of sex trafficking are cared for and loved. It brings them to tears, and shows them the kind of love they’ve missed all their lives.
THANK YOU, all who have given and encouraged and prayed. You know who you are, and you are making a huge difference!
2020 may be a bit of a disaster of a year, but heroes are formed in hard times. And that would be YOU.
